Italians eat less meat and go to discount stores

Workers on low incomes and coupleswith children tightened their belts most. The number ofhouseholds reducing the quality and amount of food purchasedrose to 65 percent in 2013 from 62.3 percent in 2012 andnumbers going to hard discount outlets rose to 14.4 percentfrom 12.3 percent.
