(VELINO) Roma, 8 Jul - Exodus, an exhibition by a group of fiveItalian artists, Sara Basta, Elena Belliantoni, Laura Cionci,Mariana Ferratto and Dunia Mauro, opens in Buenos Aires on July10. The event, organised by the Consulate General of Italy inBuenos Aires, the Italian Cultural Institute, and the Italianembassy in association with the Gobierno de la Ciudad de BuenosAires (Buenos Aires city council) and the Centro CulturalRecoleta, is part of "Verano Italiano" (Italian Summer), aninitiative running in June and July aiming to show the best ofItalian art in Argentina. "The condition of nomadism is itselfnecessary for the work of each artist, essential for completingtheir training and defining their research in relation tobroader stimuli and horizons. Any form of exodus sooner orlater includes the trauma of return to a condition that nevercorresponds to that of departure. Like a modern Ulysses, theartist follows their instinct for travel and that is why theyare far away until the desire and need to return makes themcome to terms with their original condition," the exhibitionprospectus explains. vel.
