(AGI) Baghdad, July 9 - The Iraqi army announced on Wednesdaythat it had made progress in the battle for Tikrit againstSunni Islamists and its troops would soon enter the city. Thehead of the Iraqi armed forces, Qasem Atta, said they hadreoccupied several villages near Tikrit.
