(AGI) Bolzano, July 13 - Former Italian President Carlo AzeglioCiampi's condition is stable, announced Federico Martin, themedical manager of Bolzano's San Maurizio Hospital. "Thepatient is stable and remained conscious even in the mostcritical moments", he said after subjecting Ciampi, thePresident Emeritus of the Italian Republic, to an appendectomy.When asked if he was nervous during the operation, Dr Martinreplied: "No, I only performed my duty".
