(AGI/AFP) London, Dec 5 - An Instagram post has landednotorious mischief-maker Mario Balotelli in trouble with theUK's Football Association. The FA charged the Liverpool strikerwith breaching Rule E3 on "abusive and/or insulting and/orimproper" content after he reposted an image of Nintendocharacter Super Mario containing the words "Don't be racist! Belike Mario. He's an Italian plumber, created by Japanesepeople, who speaks English and looks like a Mexican", followedby "...jumps like a black man and grabs coins like a Jew". "Itis further alleged that this is an 'Aggravated Breach' asdefined by FA Rule E3[2] as it included a reference to "ethnicorigin and/or colour and/or race and/or nationality and/orreligion or belief", the FA commented. Balotelli deleted theimage after receiving criticism and then issued an apology onTwitter. "I apologise if I've offended anyone. The post wasmeant to be anti-racist with humour. I now understand that outof context it may have the opposite effect," he wrote. "Not allMexicans have a moustache, not all black people jump high andnot all Jewish people love money. I used a cartoon done bysomebody else because it has Super Mario and I thought it wasfunny and not offensive. Again, I'm sorry". The football starhad initially responded to the accusations of racism andantisemitism by tweeting "My mom is Jewish so all of you shutup please". . .
