First Italian-Dutch dictionary presented in Amsterdam
(AGI) The Hague, Dec 4 - The first "Italian-Dutch Dictionary1672-2014" has been presented at the University of Amsterdam.It is the fruit of research by scholar Vincenzo Lo Cascio -Italian professor emeritus of linguistics at the University -on 'Italiaansche Spraakkonst': the first Italian grammar inDutch, published in 1672 and discovered by him in 1967. Theattribution of the work to Dutch philosopher Lodewijk Meyerremains controversial, as explained in the introduction of thenew dictionary.
