(AGI) Prague, Sept 11 - Italian artist Gianni Politi presentshis first one-man exhibition on Sept. 15 at the ItalianCultural Institute in Prague, under the title "Giovane PittoreRomano" (Young Roman Painter). The initiative is part ofAnteprima - a programme of cultural and artistic exchanges.Inspired by the 17th century architectural monumentality of theInstitute, the artist focused on the courtyard of the BaroqueChapel, as the curator Paola Ugolini explained. According toUgolini, Gianni Politi conceived "three large andmateric-surface paintings, whose thick finish is slightlyhighlighted by delicate and golden brushstrokes. Thus, thepainting surface appears to be illuminated, depending on thetrajectory of the light, and the canvases are so uneven thatthey seem three-dimensional." The event is organised by theItalian Cultural Institute in Prague in collaboration withAlbumArte, a non-profit cultural association engaged insupporting and promoting contemporary art in Italy and abroad.. .
