(AGI) Woking (England), Dec 11 - Fernando Alonso and JensonButton will be McLaren's drivers for the 2015 Formula One WorldChampionship, the team announced. For the 33 year-old Alonso, after his five years at Ferrari, this marks a return after theunfortunate interlude of 2007. His arrival had been rumouredfor months, especially after his official split from Ferrariand the confirmation of Rosberg and Hamilton at Mercedes. Thetwo-time world champion, whose arrival was strongly desired byHonda which from next season will once more supply engines toMcLaren, will have signed a two-year contract with an option ona third year, but with the possibility of leaving at the end of2015 if the performance of the car fails to meet hisexpectations. The former Ferrari man is on a salary of 32million euros a season. As for Button, who will be in his 16thseason in Formula One, the 34-year-old Englishman confirmed hisposition at the expense of his younger teammate KevinMagnussen, who until a few days ago was favourite to team upwith Alonso. But Button's strong finish to the season (10-9against the Dane - who stays as a reserve driver - inqualifying and double the race points) convinced the Wokingteam to stick with him. The 2006 world champion - reports theBritish media - will receive a one-year contract worth 7.5million euros, half of what he earned last season. (AGI) . .
