European Union treaties on display at Foreign Ministry
(AGI) Rome, July 17 - The Foreign Ministry is celebrating thehistory of the European Union, putting on display originaldocuments and treaties that have marked the birth and variousstages of the union up to the present. Cabinets with thedocuments are in the ministry's Sala Mosaici, from the firsttreaty, which in 1957 inaugurated the European Common Market,to Maastricht and Lisbon. A brief ceremony will be held onFriday before the start of the informal meeting of leaders ofthe European Union countries.
