European Union treaties on display at Foreign Ministry

Cabinets with thedocuments are in the ministry's Sala Mosaici, from the firsttreaty, which in 1957 inaugurated the European Common Market,to Maastricht and Lisbon. The originals of the documentsare held by the Foreign Ministry's diplomatic disputes andtreaties judicial services in large combination safes topreserve their integrity. Over the years other European stateshave requested that they be exhibited for special occasions. Inthis instance, the treaties are being exhibited inspecially-built cases with shock-proof glass.
