European exchanges close lower
(AGI) Rome, July 10 - The crisis of Banco Espirito Santo, themain Portuguese bank, and worries about France and Italy'sindustrial production forced the European exchanges to finishthe day lower. The Lisbon exchange was hit particularly hard,losing 4.18 percent, following the collapse of Banco EspiritoSanto stock, which plummeted over 17 percent. Athens hurtleddown 1.77 percent after a bond auction attracted adisappointing demand. In Frankfurt the DAX fell 1.52 percent to9,659.13 points, London's FTSE 100 slumped 0.68 percent to6,672.37 points, and in Paris the CAC 40 lost 1.34 percentclosing at 4,301.26 points.
