(AGI) Vatican City, July 9 - French financier Jean-Baptiste deFranssu was named as the new president of the Vatican's bank,the Institute of Religious Works (IOR), on Wednesday. MonsignorAlfred Xuereb, Secretary of the Secretariat for the Economy,will be non-voting secretary of the IOR Council and MonsignorBattista Ricca remains the Prelate of the IOR. Six secularmembers have been appointed to the Council, including deFranssu, Clemens Boersing (Germany), Mary Ann Glendon (USA) andSir Michael Hintze (UK), the Vatican Press Office said in abriefing. . .
