(AGI) Brussels, Nov 27 - Cruise companies may choose cheaperoptions if European shipyards fail to offer competitive pricesfor ships, said the secretary general of Cruise LinesInternational Association, Robert Ashdown. Last week Italy'sFincantieri, the China State Shipbuilding Corporation andCarnival Corporation, the world's largest cruise company,signed an agreement to build cruise ships in China. Mr Ashdowntold MediTelegraph magazine: "We want to keep buying ships atthe best possible price. European shipyards build sophisticatedships with an excellent design, but competition has becomeglobal and no one can force us to order ships in Europe.Therefore, European shipyards must continue to offerhigh-quality products but at a competitive price." . .
