CONCERT INAUGURATES ITALIAN PRESIDENCY OF EUROPEAN UNION

(VELINO) Roma, 10 Jul - A concert by "I Solisti Veneti -Ensemble Vivaldi" conducted by Maestro Claudio Scimone tookplace over the past few days at the Luxembourg Conservatory tocommemorate the official start of Italy's six-month presidencyof the European Union. The programme was entitled "Virtuosismoe melodia nella musica italiana" and was organised by theItalian embassy in cooperation with the Italian CulturalInstitute and the office of the Italian representative to theEuropean Commission in Luxembourg. Before theconcert began, Cacciaguerra and Luxembourg's representative tothe European Commission, Georges Bingen, spoke about Italy'saims during its presidency, in cooperation with the upcomingpresidencies of Latvia and Luxembourg.
