BOOK ON ROMAN FOUNTAINS LAUNCHED IN OSLO

(VELINO) Roma, 2 Oct - The book, "Roma, la citta' dellefontane" (Rome, the city of fountains) by Professor Hugo Flatenwas launched in Oslo over the past few days. The book'snarrative starts with a detailed account of the system forbringing water to the Eternal City and goes on to construct anengaging and original story, following the water's progressfrom fountain to fountain as it traces the historical andartistic evolution of Rome and the artists who shaped itshistory. The event was opened by therenowned archeologist, Rasmus Brandt, who was director of theNorwegian Institute in Rome from 1996 to 2002 and director ofthe Norwegian archeological expedition at Hierapolis in Turkeyfrom 2007. He has been working closely with the Italian missionat the site, which has been excavating the site since 1957 andis under the direction of Francesco d'Andria. vel.
