(AGI) - Berlin, Sept. 30 - Berlin's art world has beenenlivened by an "Italian Cultural Evening" held at theKonrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Foundation with an initiativepromoting Italian artistic excellence in literature, music andvisual arts. The event was organised in three differentsections and greatly appreciated by the audience. The eveningstarted with Andrea Bajani reading a number of passages fromhis most recent book "Mi riconosci" in a dialogue with theGerman actor Felix von Manteufel. This was followed by a violinand piano musical performance by the duo Tortorelli-Meluso,well-known in Germany for their refined renditions ofsophisticated and at times previously unknown 19th centurymusic. This preceded the opening of the exhibition entitled"Placet experiri!" by the artist Luca Trevisani, Italiancontemporary art's 'enfant prodige', whose work concentrates onthe composition and continuous transformation of matter. Onthis occasion the artist presented prints on paper andaluminium then exposed to ultra-violet rays playing onmetamorphosis and chromatic contrasts. Sponsored by the KAS incooperation with the embassy and the Italian Cultural Instituteon Berlin to celebrate Italy's presidency of the EU, the eventwas inaugurated by the Italian Ambassador, Pietro Benassi, whoemphasised the fundamental role played by culture as acentrepiece of the European Union, seen as a community ofvalues as well as one of economic interests.. .
