'Vibrazioni Mediterranee' to perform in Istanbul

(AGI) Istanbul, July 8 - Martino De Cesare will travel toIstanbul with the group 'Le 'Vibrazioni Mediterranee' to hold aconcert on Thursday to celebrate the start of Italy's six-monthpresidency of the European Union. The event, organised by theItalian Cultural Institute, will be held in the theatre of theCasa d'Italia in Istanbul and will feature musicians who foryears have been immersed in researching folk music. The group,which was born to promote Italian musicians abroad andexchanges with local artists, wants to emphasize theMediterranean as the common cultural root and music as thebridge between the two shores of the Mare Nostrum. De Cesare,on acoustic guitar, along with drummer Paki Palmieri, bassguitarist Daniele Brenca and musician and actor GrazianoGalatone, will perform music from Puglia, arranged in an ad hocmanner for a performance that is not just aimed at bringing thehistory, smells, colours and emotions of that region, but alsoto follow the shared roots of Mediterranean culture. Theprogramme will feature "o sole mio" Estemporanea minore, Juana,Lu rusciu te lu mare, Briganti s' more, Pizzica, O sole mioCaruso, Tu si na cosa grande, Solo percussioni My melody, Jac,Erotico stomp/pizzica, Tarantella del Gargano, Birdland.
