'Movie 'n Food' show in Washington to celebrate Milan Expo

(AGI) Washington, Sept 11 - The "Movie 'n Food - A Taste ofCinema" show, a virtual voyage through Italian high fashion,cinema and gastronomy was organised in Washington to celebrateMilano Expo 2015. The event's programme includes twoexhibitions, the screening of a film and a conference. First onthe agenda is "Couture a' la Carte", an exhibition of thehistory-making Maison Gattinoni inspired by the theme of food,which can be visited at the Italian Embassy until Oct. 6. Inparallel, until Oct. 23 and again at the Embassy, visitors willbe able to admire candid shots of celebrities by the legendaryRino Barillari, "King of the Paparazzi". The show includesshots of Ron Howard choosing a fish for dinner, Cameron Diazeating a huge ice-cream, Bo Derek cooking pasta and RichardGere, Mel Gibson, Jean Paul Belmondo, Antonio Banderas and LizaMinnelli, all intent on eating Italian culinary delicacies. Thethird event on the billboard is an exceptional eight-minutevideo mixing sequences from cult movies: Ratatouille, HauteCuisine, The Hundred-Foot Journey, Eat Pray Love, Pretty Woman,The Gold of Naples, Lady and the Tramp, The Leopard and BigNight. The programme will close with a lecture by PietroParisi, a 34-year old master chef trained in the court ofMichelin star-winning chefs like Alan Ducasse and GualtieroMarchesi, who has finally achieved his dream of having arestaurant of his own, "Era Ora" in Palma Campania, nearNaples. Parisi will speak about his experience and reveal anumber of recipes that have made him famous worldwide. "Theintertwining of different arts has always been a themeinspiring our cultural initiatives because every Italiancreation is the result of a special human history that hasengendered talent, imagination, ideas and inspiration throughthe millennia," said Italian Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero.(AGI). .
