"Amori Elementari" premieres at Italian embassy in Moscow

(AGI) Moscow, June 24 - The Italian embassy in Moscow recentlyhosted the premiere of "Amori Elementari", a jointItalian-Russian film production due for screening at the 36thMIFF Moscow International Cinema Film Festival. Filmed atseveral locations in Italy and Russia, the film is the last ina long line of joint productions spanning almost half acentury, issuing in masterpieces such as Vittorio De Sica's"Sunflower" in 1970, with Sophia Loren and MarcelloMastroianni, Sergei Bondarchuk's "Waterloo" in 1970, NikitaMikhalkov's "Dark Eyes" in 1987, with Marcello Mastroianni andSilvana Mangano, and Andreiy Konchalovsky's "The Inner Circle"in 1991. The night's special screening was attended, amongothers, by MIFF chairman and director Nikita Mikhalkov and byItalian ambassador Cesare Ragaglini. Joint film productions,the ambassador said, "have always ranked as a means toestablish dialogue and mutual understanding". (AGI). .
