(AGI) - Accra, 2 dec. - A family of five, in New Juaben in theEastern region of Ghana, have died in what residents believewas an acid attack by the head of the family. Eye witnessesclaim, they overheard the father, Kwesi Asare who is also knownas Kwesi Brother, aged 50, threatening to kill his wife MaaJane. The wife believed to be in her 40s is among the five whodied. She had been engaged in a short quarrel with the angryhusband. According to local media reports, residents found the bodyof the father, his wife' and those of the three children(Ellen,15, Edmund, 7 and Ohene 4 years) in their room. Theresidents say, a burnt window net and the removed louvre bladesdrew their attention. The bodies had turned reddish, fuelingsuggestions that an acidic substance was poured on them. Residents suspect that the father, Kwasi Asare, aftercommitting the crime, killed himself by drinking a lethalsubstance. Police in Koforidua have since deposited the bodiesat the Koforidua Government hospital morgue. The ghana policeadministration has not officially commented on the matter.(AGI).
