WORLD REGIONS FORUM TAKES PLACE IN MILAN

(AGI) - Milan, September 27th - "Multilevel governance andcivil society for innovation and growth" is the title of thesecond edition of the World Regions Forum, a three-day eventheld in Milan with regional authorities from all over the worlddebating and questioning the role played by local institutionsin a world that has become increasingly complex, due to therising challenges posed by globalization and the need forincreasingly efficient allocation of resources. The forum isorganized with a series of theme workshops that will start onWednesday at 3 p.m. at the Milan Fair with a debate oncompanies and innovation. Mobility in the world of research,the sustainable use of water resources, the battle againstcancer and bio-banks will instead be discussed at meetings onThursday.On Friday there will be a plenary assembly for thetwenty regional leaders present, held at the Auditorium atPalazzo Lombardia. Many delegations are expected in Lombardy,chosen on the basis of their representativeness and systemicimportance in their macroareas: Buenos Aires (Argentina),California (USA), Commonwealth of Massachusetts (USA), Illinois(USA), Nuevo Leon (Mexico), Quebec (Canada), Sao Paulo(Brazil), Baden Wurttemberg (Germany), Bavaria (Germany),Catalunya (Spain), Madrid (Spain), Rhone-Alpes (France), StPetersburg (Russian Federation), Abu Dhabi (United ArabEmirates), Gauteng (South Africa), Gyeonggi (South Korea),Maharashtra (India), New South Wales (Australia), Shanghai(China) and Singapore (Singapore).
