(AGI) - Milan, September 29th - New proposals for greatercooperation on economics, innovation and research were theresults of the first two 'theme' meetings held at the WorldRegions Forum in Milan. "Work continues with greatparticipation and satisfaction," explained the President ofLombardy Roberto Formigoni answering questions from the press."The first two Forums on the economy and on innovationresearchers have already been held," he added. "The firstidentified sustainable growth as the key word for the Regionsso they may act as facilitators." Therefore," saidFormigoni,"the fundamental priority is training, so that humanresources become the key for future development." There is alsoa need for "an environment that facilitates and encouragesinnovation that is anti-bureaucratic" he said, adding that "itis also important to have a financial environment thatfacilitates growth." Another proposal that emerged from theForum was a "network for exchanging ideas and experiences so asto make easier cooperation in the economic and innovationssectors, also involving the private sector. As far as the forumon research is concerned, the focal point was the"implementation of strategies for the mobility of researchers."This requires a "circular" mobility, said Formigoni, "thebenefits of which are higher than the costs." For these reasonsthe Regions have decided to create "an internal website forexchanging information" so as to encourage mobility. (AGI) .
