(AGI) - Milan, June 17 - The Turkish pavilion at Expo Milan wasofficially opened on Wednesday in the presence of a largedelegation led by Turkey's Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci. Theminister was accompanied by many businessmen andrepresentatives of leading companies in the Turkish privatesector. At the opening ceremony, Mr Zeybekci was keen to stressthat "Turkey attaches great importance to participating inexhibitions" and that "the country's theme and pavilion atMilan Expo reflect the historical and cultural values ofTurkey." He went on to say that "Turkey has the fifth-largestpavilion at Expo Milan, which was completed in a record time ofjust 100 days. Today we are proud to share with all visitorsthe cultural specialities and traditional activities that willbe on offer during the Expo." Minister Zeybekci, underliningTurkey's determination to cooperate with all countries to makethe world a more livable and sustainable place free of food andnutrition problems, said: "Turkey is ready to participate inall initiatives and projects that support humanity, andparticularly in those that improve access to healthy food." Theminister closed his speech: "I hope that Milan Expo willgenerate new opportunities for cooperation to create a betterfuture." He invited all present to experience the Turkishpavilion and visit Turkey itself - a country with unique natureand climate plus wonderful history and culture. After theopening ceremony, the Turkish delegation visited the pavilionsof several other countries. The official program ended withTurkish folk dances and musical performances. (AGI).
