(AGI) Rho (Milan), May 27 - Sounds, animations and, above all, interaction characterise "Fab Food - The Factory of ItalianTaste", an exhibition organised by the Museum of Science andTechnology and promoted by the industralists' organisationConfindustria in their space at Milan Expo 2015. The exhibitionseeks to engage the visitor in a journey of discovery andawareness. In a 900 square-metre space on two levels, theexhibition looks in a playful but extremely targeted way at theMilan Expo 2015 theme of food to show visitors how the foodindustry and its technologies help us obtain safe quality food,at affordable prices and in enough quantities for everyone, while respecting the world's environment and resources. "FabFood", which visitors enter through a big red mouth, beginswith a full immersion into Italian food, with classic dishescoming to life in a series of video projections. However, the"contemplative" part of the show ends there, as from the secondroom the visitors are called upon to make choices. While thiscan seem easy with things like the "Food Juke Box" thatprepares your favourite food virtually after you order it, thechallenge on the upstairs level is to find solutions to feed 9billion people in 2050. Visitors need to find a balance betweenactions and resources, making the food industry, institutions, industry, universities and schools, consumers and moderndistribution all function in tandem. A video game stimulatesreflections on safety, while the "Reflections of Technology"installation invites us to consider how our physique haschanged for an approach to the interdependency between diet andlifestyle. Then a mirror system shows how science andtechnology have improved our health. Finally, there will be aseries of "Innovative Recipe" screens to explain the mostimportant achievements of the Italian food system in responseto the challenges of food. The exhibition, which wasinaugurated at the Confindustria general meeting, opened itsdoors on Thursday with a visit from the organisation'spresident, Giorgio Squinzi. (AGI).
