Expo Milan celebrates National Day of Palestine

The Palestinian Pavilion, located in thecluster of Drylands, shows the central role of the olive tree,"the main source of livelihood for the people and, at the sametime, a symbol of peace and a metaphor of the long Palestinianhistory," Giro pointed out. Deputy Prime Minister Ziad Abu Amr,head of the Palestinian delegation, thanked the Italiangovernment for their welcome and said he was "happy toparticipate in Expo 2015 together with the other 148 countriesand organisations. The theme of this World Expo reflectsmankind's becoming aware of the greatest problems it faces.These problems will not go away unless all the people of theworld learn to really collaborate effectively. I hope that ourpavilion will show our culture and our traditions to allvisitors, as well as the ample investment opportunities and thewill to live in peace and freedom of our country," Ziad Abu Amrconcluded. The celebrations for the National Day of Palestinecontinued with a performance by El-Funoun, a local folk dancegroup, and Le Trio Joubran, a musical trio from Nazareth. (AGI).
