(VELINO) Roma, 5 Dec - The Italian Cultural Institute in Lima presents the exhibition entitled "Pellegrino Artusi e l'unita' italiana in cucina" ("Pellegrino Artusi and Italian Unity in the Kitchen") as part of the first Week of Italian Cuisine in the World. The exhibition, which will run until 17 December, is dedicated to the eminent figure of Pellegrino Artusi (1820) and his literary masterpiece "Science in the Kitchen and the Art of Eating Well" ("La scienza in cucina", 1891). The precious volume contributed to the unification of Italy by putting together a collection of the principal national recipes. Italian gastronomy, which was first unified by Artusi, continues to unify Italians at thousands of kilometres from their Homeland, perfectly integrating new culinary recipes. Also after so many years, his literary masterpiece continues to be the best-known and most translated, purchased and copied cookery book in the world. The exhibition, which was presented for the first time in 2011 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Italian unity (1861-2011), is now staged in Lima after having toured the world's most important capitals, paying tribute to the ingeniousness of Pellegrino Artusi, an ambassador of Italian culinary tradition and excellence. The exhibition will be open to the public from Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., and on Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. vel
