(AGI) Cagliari, Jan 2 - Terravino 2016, a wine tasting competition held in Israel, awarded gold medals to four Italian wines. A panel of jurors made up by some of the most talented journalists in the industry evaluated 615 wines from 24 countries and awarded a gold medal to 'Tiros', a 2013 vintage red wine from the Siddura winery of Luogosanto, in the Gallura district of Sardinia. It has the IGT [typical geographical indication] label, and is produced from Limabra hills grapes. Siddura also reaped two silver medals for their Vermentino di Gallura barricaded wines, Cannonau 'Fola' 2014 and 'Beru', and is the only winery to receive these acknowledgements at a prestigious international competition. The gold medal is not the first award that 'Tiros 2013' has received in 2016. In May, the Siddura red wine was awarded a gold medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards in London, a competition organised by the renowned English periodical bearing the same name. Cannonau 'Fola' and Cagnulari 'Bacco' earned gold medals at the International Wine Challenge, the Concours de Bruxelles and the Berliner, while the 2014 vintage Vermentino 'Maia' was awarded a gold medal at Mundus Vini in Germany and at the Concours de Bruxelles.
