(AGI) - Rome, 10 Mar. - The plenary session of the Magistrates'
Governing Council (CSM) has adopted a resolution on the
statements made against magistrates by prime minister
Berlusconi in recent months calling for the restoration of "a
climate of respect", which is "essential precondition of an
orderly democratic life". The two PDL lay judges, Anedda and
Saponara, voted against the resolution. Anedda said that
Berlusconi is the target of a campaign of persecution which has
gone on for several years.

(AGI) - Rome, 10 Mar. - The UN has once again strongly criticised Italy's immigration policy. "I'm still concerned about the provisions of the Italian security package which makes illegal immigration an aggravating circumstance" said the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay addressing the Senate Human Rights Commission. Pillay went on to say that: "It is the responsibility of the public authorities to make sure that immigrants are neither attacked nor vilified. Army troops patrolling the streets, continuous calls for emergency measures or the vigilante patrols also known as 'ronde', all of that helps create a difficult climate (segue)

emphasizing the decision of the former AN leader to not
participate in the demonstration on March 20th.

(AGI) - Rome, 10 March - Silvio Berlusconi confirmed that the
PDL will take to the streets of Rome on 20 March, "to defend
the right to vote," adding that, "after so many demonstrations
by the left and its allies I have given way to requests from
party organisers and we have decided to hold a demonstration in
Rome on 20 March."
